Subject: 2024 Boys' State Applications
Dear Boys' State Chairman,
Please remind candidates to not use school email addresses. We are sometimes blocked and I cannot contact them.
THE DEADLINE FOR THE STUDENTS TO COMPLETE THE ONLINE APPLICATION IS FRIDAY, APRIL 12, 2024.
You have until May 3, 2024, to get the paperwork and check to Department Headquarters. Make sure you set your County deadline early enough to allow ample time to review the applications and get them to Headquarters on time. We cannot grant any extensions.
I have attached a spreadsheet sorted by County which lists the boys who have submitted applications online for the 2024 Boys' State Program. This is for your information to let you know how your county is progressing.
I have also attached a copy of the brochure.
Please make sure your posts are conducting interviews. We have found that several participants were never interviewed and have no idea what the program is about.
NOTE: DON'T FORGET TO ADVISE THE CANDIDATES OF THE OPPORTUNITY TO APPLY FOR THE SAMSUNG SCHOLARSHIP!
If applying for the SAMSUNG SCHOLARSHIP, the application must be filled out online at https://www.legion.org/samsung-scholarship-application. The deadline for submitting the application is 11:59 pm on June 28, 2024.
THE DELEGATES WILL BE ALLOWED TO BRING CELL PHONES. THEY WILL NEED TO BE TURNED OFF DURING ASSEMBLIES, CLASSES, ETC.
